The sensor has a part comprising a magnetic core (3) magnetized by an exciting coil supplied with alternating current. The core has amorphous or nano-crystalline type magnetic material layers (10, 11) incorporated in thickness of a printed circuit board (PCB) substrate (20), and detection coils are coupled to the core. Each coil has a set of metallic tracks (30) formed on lower and upper surfaces (22, 21) of the substrate and connected with each other by vias (40) in the substrate so as to surround the magnetic material layers. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a magnetic displacement sensor.
