PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading apparatus that improves workability during attachment/detachment of an image reading member. SOLUTION: The image reading apparatus is provided with: a second reading part 25 which is freely attachably/detachably provided at a mounting position in a side plate 340 so as to read images of an original manuscript; a guide groove 305a formed in a frame 305 of the side plate 340; and a guide member 306 that is provided on the depth side in the mounting direction of the second reading part 25 so as to guide the attachment/detachment of the second reading part 25 to/from the mounting position in the side plate 340 while sliding inside the guide groove 305a.
