<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a kind of low-pass filtering method effectively removing noise and excluding unclearness in an image. <P>SOLUTION: The kind of low-pass filtering method is achieved by hardware and is applied to image noise removal. The low-pass filtering method includes the steps of: deciding undecided pixels and a number of related pixels, wherein the undecided pixels have undecided pixel values and the related pixels each have related pixel values corresponding thereto; determining whether each of absolute difference values between the related pixel values of the related pixels and undecided pixel values of the undecided pixels is smaller than a critical value, and setting the related pixels as an average pixel, wherein the critical value is obtained by multiplying the difference when the undecided pixel is deducted from a maximum pixel value by a gain value and by adding an offset value to the resultant value; averaging out the related pixel values of the related pixels, and then replacing the undecided pixel values of the undecided pixel with the average, if any related pixels are not set as an average pixel; and averaging out the related pixel value of the averaged pixel and undecided pixel values of the undecided pixels, and then replacing the undecided pixel values of the undecided pixels with the average, if at least one related pixel is set as an average pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
