<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimally represent colors by adjusting a color space between an externally connected display and an image to be displayed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image is read from a storage medium storing the image, the display resolution of the display connected to an external display terminal is obtained, and the resolution of the read image is determined. A color conversion coefficient is determined on the basis of the comparison of the obtained resolution of the image and the determined display resolution of the display, the color of the read image is converted using the determined coefficient for color conversion and it is output to the external display terminal.
