<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationally structure an engine capable of being operated by appropriate combustion by eliminating a problem that excessive fuel gas is supplied to an auxiliary chamber on starting the engine and during a low load operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The engine is provided with the auxiliary chamber 10S communicating with the main chamber 10M facing against a piston 5 via an injection hole 11 and check valves CV for respectively opening when pressure of the auxiliary chamber is dropped, structured by a first auxiliary fuel supply passage 31 and a second auxiliary fuel supply passage 32 which are parallely arranged as an auxiliary fuel supply passage SL for supplying the fuel gas to the auxiliary chamber 10S. A supply quantity of the second auxiliary fuel supply passage 32 is smaller than that of the first auxiliary fuel supply passage 31.
