<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein, in a case that the bar code applied to a reagent container can not be read by a bar code reader, an autoanalyzer can not discriminate whether the reagent container is not installed in a reagent storage as its primary factor or whether the reagent container is installed, but the reading failure of the bar code is caused by the contamination or the like of the bar code. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a state that the reagent container is not installed at a reagent installing position in the reagent storage of the autoanalyzer, the bar code having the non-preserving installation recording data of the reagent container is automatically arranged. When the bar code having the non-preserving installation recording data of the reagent container is read when the bar code applied to the reagent container is read by the bar code reader, it is recognized that the reagent container is not installed at the reagent installing position of the reagent storage.
