The antenna position of a reader/writer is made adjustable so that optimum intercommunication sensitivity can be obtained, regardless of the arrangement of an antenna with which intercommunication is to be performed. Specifically, an antenna position adjusting mechanism (100) is provided with a reader/writer (10) which can be turned by a turning shaft provided vertically to the long shaft of an antenna; an arrangement information setting means (11) for setting arrangement information of the antenna of a label to be transferred; a calculating means (12), which calculates the turning position of a reader/writer antenna (A2) so that the antenna of the reader/writer (long shaft of the reader/writer antenna) is parallel to the antenna of the label (long shaft of the label antenna (A1)), based on the set arrangement information; and a turning means (13) which turns the reader/writer antenna to the calculated turning position.
