<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a forward/backward travel mode switching control device and method for an unmanned carrier, for stopping a vehicle at the same position both in a forward travel mode and a backward travel mode. <P>SOLUTION: This control device is provided with: a plurality of driving units respectively equipped with a track detection sensor for detecting a track installed on a floor face, and configured to control the switching of the forward/backward travel mode of the unmanned carrier which travels backward and forward. This forward/backward travel switching control method includes: a mode switching decision means (step S1) for, when a command marker is detected by a marker detection sensor installed in each of the plurality of driving units, deciding whether or not the switching command of the forward/backward travel mode has been issued; and an active sensor switching means (step S2) for, when the switching command of the forward/backward travel mode is issued, activating the marker detection sensor of the travel direction side driving unit, and for suspending the marker detection sensor of the opposite side driving unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
