<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce toner consumption in a state pf improving a highlight reproduction and keeping an image quality without significantlly increasing memories. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processor is provided with: a dither table 242 for storing a reference threshold; a gap profile LUT 241 for outputting data of a gap profile; an offset amount acquisition part 245 for outputting an offset amount for correcting the density signal of a reproduction start part of a marking engine; an offset quantization value generation part 246 for outputting a first quantization value for correcting the density signal, by using the offset amount from the reference threshold stored in the dither table 242; a linear quantization value generation part 247 for outputting a second quantization value for a linear change from the reference threshold; and a donut dither generating part 243 for generating a gap halftone threshold to be a new threshold which has a gap inside by using the first quantization value, a second quantization value, and data of a gap profile.
