PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous recognition of an object when noise due to the action of an electromagnetic wave from the outside of a radar device is mixed in a radar signal or the like. SOLUTION: An object recognition device recognizing an object on the basis of the frequency difference signal between a radar signal transmitted for a prescribed angular range and the radar signal reflected by the object performs peak detection processing detecting a peak of the level of the frequency difference signal for each unit angle and object recognition processing detecting a peak group within a mutual prescribed frequency range from a plurality of the peaks and recognizing, as the object, the peak group in which the level of the peaks forms the local maximum value from among the peak groups. In the object recognition processing, when conditions that the number of peaks included in the peak group is not more than a reference peak number and the level of the peak is not less than a reference level are satisfied and it is highly probable that the peak is due to noise, the peak group is not recognized as the object.
