<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing cleaner efficiently conveying a cleaning member cleaning a fixing roller. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the fixing cleaner 10, the cleaning member 11, contacting the fixing roller 2 to convey it in a sub scanning direction is divided into a plurality of divided cleaning members in a main scanning direction; a paper sheet P transferred with a toner image is conceptually divided into a plurality of paper sheet main scanning direction divided areas, corresponding to the divided cleaning members; the ratio of image areas and nonimage areas of the toner image is calculated per paper sheet main scanning direction divided area; and conveyance of each divided cleaning member is controlled on the basis of the ratio.
