<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication system for easily setting a communication path between a master machine and a slave machine and quickly taking countermeasures against an abnormal slave machine, and a communication path setting program used for the system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The wireless communication system includes a master machine 1, a plurality of slave machines 2 for performing wireless communication with the master machine 1, and an operation device 3 for setting a communication path between the master machine and the slave machines. The operation device 3 includes an image display means 31, an operation input means 32 for entering the setting data, and an operation processing means 30. The operation processing means 30 displays to an image display means 31 a setting image composed only of an area image which represents an installation area of the master machine 1 and the slave machines 2 or a setting image showing the position of the master machine 1 and the slave machines 2 in accordance with the setting data held by the master machine 1 and a communication path onto the area image and, when setting data is input while the setting image are displayed, updates the setting image so that it matches input setting data, and has the image display means 31 display it.
