<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a program distribution technology that can distribute a program of an evaluation version, or the like almost without a user bearing a burden to prepare an operating environment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A distribution target program is installed on an operating system of a version and a patch level following the specification of the distribution target program, and there is prepared a virtual machine image storing means holding a virtual machine image which installs a program with the distribution target program dependent thereupon. When the distribution target program and the program upon which the distribution target program depends are not operable on the same machine, each of them is held as an individual virtual machine image, and a virtual machine image including a distribution target program requested by the user and a virtual machine image including the program with the distribution target program dependent thereupon are respectively made individually distributable.
