<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device in which a desired signal can be obtained in a non-contact state, and to provide electronic equipment which mounts the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The input device includes a base unit (22), an operation unit (40) having a case (42) mounted on the base unit, and an operation member (54) movably supported by the case, respectively, an operation detecting means (73) which is installed at the base unit and detects operation of the operation member, a magnetic member (50) arranged in the case, a magnetism sensor (34) which is fixed to the base unit and detects a state of a magnetic field by the magnetic member, and a control means (70) having object type determination means (74) to determine a kind of the operation unit according to the state of the magnetic field.
