<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a separator for a solid polymer fuel cell hardly eluting a water-soluble organic material or water-soluble ions, and to provide the separator for the solid polymer fuel cell manufactured by this method. <P>SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the separator for the solid polymer fuel cell 1 formed by molding a graphite composition containing graphite and a binding material, and containing 70-90 mass% of graphite and 10-30 mass% of the binding material in the total 100 mass% of graphite and the binding material, the binding material contains cresol novolak type epoxy resin or phenol novolak type resin, and contains triphenyl phosphine or imidazole as a curing agent. After the process for molding the graphite composition, the method includes a process for cleaning with a protogenic solvent.
