PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a factor estimation apparatus that can improve performance of estimating a factor according to user needs. SOLUTION: The factor estimation apparatus performs inference using a knowledge database (S1). The apparatus extracts problems from the inference result (S2). The apparatus estimates and proceeds processing to locate a part to be corrected and to input correction specifics for solving each problem when the problem is detected (S3: Yes, S4). The apparatus terminates the processing when the problem is not detected.
