<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidify element used for a natural evaporation type humidifier and exhibiting sufficient humidifying capability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This humidify element 12 is used for the natural evaporation type humidifier 10 humidifying air by natural evaporation of water. One sheetlike absorptive member is folded into two along a center folding line 60. The sheetlike member folded into two is subsequently folded in a zigzag manner by sectional fold portions to form a plurality of bellows-type humidify segments 24. The plurality of humidify segments 24 is displaced to be freely extended and contracted with a folded position as a boundary. In the case that the humidify element 12 is put in the case 14 of the natural evaporation type humidifier 10, the plurality of humidify segments 24 is contracted and the humidity element 12 is stored in the case 14 when the case 14 is closed, and the plurality of humidify segments 24 is extended from a contracted state and the plurality of humidify segments is widely brought into contact with air when the case 14 is opened.
