<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve startability of an engine in restarting it, in an automatic stop device for a diesel engine automatically stopping the engine when prescribed automatic stop conditions are satisfied and restarting the engine when prescribed restart conditions are satisfied. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a glow plug for heating an inside of a cylinder, a main buttery supplying power to electric load of a vehicle including the glow plug, and a sub buttery supplying power to a starter motor.
