<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary washing apparatus which can perform drainage on the basis of the presence or absence of water supply from the outside. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This sanitary washing apparatus comprises: a water jet nozzle which emits a jet of water from a spout; a channel which leads the water, supplied from a water supply source, to the water jet nozzle; a heat exchange unit which is provided in the channel so as to heat the supplied water; a normal closing-type on-off valve which is provided in the channel between the heat exchange unit and the water jet nozzle so as to control the passage of the water through the channel; and a control section which controls the operation of the normal closing-type on-off valve.
