IRON NITRIDE-BASED MAGNETIC POWDER AND MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM USING THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron nitride-based magnetic power which has excellent anticorrosion and magnetic characteristics even when the powder is made finer, and also a magnetic recording medium which has excellent storage stability with magnetic characteristics less deteriorated by using the iron nitride-based magnetic powder.

SOLUTION: The iron nitride-based magnetic powder contains an Fe16N2phase as a main phase of iron nitride phases and has an average particle diameter of 5 to 30 nm. The powder also contains a hexagonal structure ferrite including an alkali earth metal element of at least one selected from a group of barium and strontium.
