<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toxic substance detecting method capable of detecting a toxic substance contained in sample water or a substance decomposed to produce the toxic substance with high sensitivity, and a toxic substance detector. <P>SOLUTION: The toxic substance detecting method contains a process for applying decomposition treatment to sample water and a process for detecting the toxic substance of the sample water subjected to decomposition treatment by a biosensor for detecting a harmful substance by the respiration activity of a microorganism. The toxic substance detector 1 is equipped with an ultraviolet ray irradiation device 11 for irradiating the sample water with ultraviolet rays, a flow cell and a biosensor 6 equipped with the fixed microorganism membrane installed in the flow channel of the flow sensor and the dissolved oxygen electrode brought into contact with the fixed microorganism membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
