<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a secondary trouble caused by a residual piece of paper left inside a device by pushing aside the jammed paper from the paper transfer path when a paper jam occurs. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with a jammed paper storage box 5 on the side of a branch transfer path 4 that is branched from a paper transfer path 3 lying between a paper feeding tray 1 and the image forming section of the device body, the paper transfer path 3 comprising; a boundary sensor 6 disposed at the boundary of the paper feeding tray 1 and the device body; a branch sensor 7; and a changeover claw 8 disposed on the crossroads of the branch transfer path 4 at the downstream side of the boundary sensor 6: wherein if jammed paper is detected by the boundary sensor 6, but not detected by the branch sensor 7 when a jam on the paper transfer path 3 is detected, the changeover claw 8 is changed over so that the paper is transferred to the jammed paper storage box 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
