<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct color seepage appropriately by preventing erroneous correction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An image correcting device 10 gathers the histogram of brightness when image data are input from a digital camera 20, and extracts a highlight portion in the image data to calculate a pixel statistic. The image correcting device 10 calculates color temperature of the highlight portion in the image data. The image correcting device 10 plots the calculated color temperature onto a chromaticity diagram, and determines whether the distance to a point of a daylight trajectory of the same color temperature is within a prescribed distance. As a result, the image correcting device 10 corrects color balance to output the image data after correction to a printer 30, when determining that the distance is within the prescribed distance. Contrarily, the image correcting device 10 does not correct color balance and maintains the pixel value of the image data to output the image data to the printer 30, when determining that the distance is not within the prescribed distance.
