<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate unit having a folding door which is movable in a vertical direction upon opening and closing movement of the gate and is restricted from moving vertically when the gate is closed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gate unit comprises a folding door including a plurality of panel bodies rotatably connected to each other via hinges, and a pair of gate constituent members arranged on both sides of the folding door in the state that the gate is closed by the folding door. In the folding door, one of the plurality of the connected panel bodies, which is arranged on one side in the connecting direction, is rotatably fixed to one of the gate constituent members, and two adjacent panel bodies of the plurality of the panel bodies are structured to be relatively movable in the vertical direction. The gate unit is provided with a restriction part restricting the other panel body of the two adjacent panel bodies, which is arranged on the side of the other gate constituent member, from moving upward in the state that the gate is closed, and canceling the restriction as the gate is opened.
