<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent condensation in a projector which supplies air cooled by a cooling means to an optical element group. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This projector includes: a cooling system 11 which is a cooling means installed in a body 1; a sealed or semi-sealed duct 30 to circulate the air cooled by the cooler 18 of this cooling system 11 to be supplied to the optical element group 5; an outside air intake hole 32 and an air exhaust hole 33 used as a ventilation means for taking in the outside air into this duct 30 and exhausting the air inside the duct 30; dampers 34, 35 to open or close the holes; and a controller C used as a control means to control the dampers 34, 35 to ventilate the air inside the duct 30.
