WALKING TYPE WORK MACHINE

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type work machine having a simple structure enabling a clutch engagement action through a deadman form under a vehicle reversing state and having a compact arrangement around a steering wheel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A clutch engagement acting region at a work clutch 3 is set in an operating range of a clutch lever 40 and a range extending from a clutch engagement position to a location near a disengagement position over a position where a dead point DP is present, wherein a walking type work machine body is installed with a braking means operated to restrict the operating range of the clutch lever 40 in such a way that a motion of the clutch lever 40 from the dead point DP toward the clutch engagement position as the reversing transmission work is carried out at the clutch disengagement position of the clutch lever 40, and to restrict for preventing a reversing transmission through a transmission lever 50 at a clutch engagement position of the clutch lever 40.
