RAISED RAIL TRAVELING SYSTEM

Provided is a raised rail traveling system that enables a moving vehicle to move in an unconventional way, and furthermore, allows passengers to fully enjoy the view from the moving vehicle. The raised rail traveling system (1) features: a rail (11); a rail support mechanism (12) that supports the rail (11) at a predetermined height; a self-propelled moving vehicle (20) suspended from the rail (11) and which moves along the rail; and platforms set up on the path along which the moving vehicle (20) moves so that passengers can board and exit. The moving vehicle (20) is provided with: a moving body (21) that moves along the rail (11); a travel driving mechanism disposed on the moving body (21) that drives the same; a vehicle body (34), suspended from the moving body (21) so as to freely ascend or descend as well as rotate horizontally, and formed of a hollow member and configured so as to allow passengers to board; an ascent/descent supporting apparatus (40) that supports the vehicle body (34) in a suspended state and also enables ascent/descent; and a rotating drive motor (76) disposed on the ascent/descent supporting apparatus (40) that allows the vehicle body (34) to rotate horizontally.
