An air conditioner that can be transported without using packaging materials. An engine-driven heat pump (1) formed in an upwardly directed air blowing structure, and the heat pump (1) having two device chambers (heat exchanger chamber (10) and machine chamber (20)) arranged one on top of the other in a partitioned manner, fan shrouds (30, 30) arranged so as to project from a top plate (15) of the heat pump (1) into the heat pump(1), and belt supporting pads (40, 40) functioning as reinforcement members and arranged over the entire length in the longitudinal direction of the periphery of the top plate. The fan shrouds (30, 30) are molded of resin integrally with the top plate (15), and reinforcement plates (31, 31) are secured to and wrapped around the outer peripheral edges of openings (lower end sections) of the shrouds (30, 30) directed toward the inside of the heat exchanger chamber (10).
