PURPOSE: An absorption heat pump is provided to monitor the heat source to prevent the freezing by sensing the temperature of the coolant liquid on the bottom of an evaporator with a temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION: A regenerator(1) separates the refrigerant vapor by heating the absorption liquid returned from an absorber(5). A condenser(2) liquidizes the refrigerant vapor transferred from a regenerator. An evaporator(4) evaporates the coolant liquid transferred from the condenser. The absorber absorbs the refrigerant vapor transferred from the evaporator. The dilution operation of the absorption liquid is performed and the operation is not immediately stopped when the flow rate of the heat source is lower than pre-set value or a heat source pump(18) mounted at an absorber tube is stopped.
