<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel mat which is low cost, easy to use and reliable and which has resistance to puncture and extrusion, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The gel mat has a closed pocket consists of two layers of thin sheets 1, and a thin sheet shaped gel 5 is filled in the pocket. The manufacturing method of the gel mat includes the steps for preparing the materials, making the pocket, filling the monomer solution, heating to cure, inspecting and packaging. The gel is used for replacing the conventional water to manufacture the sheet-shaped gel mat with the pocket on the outer surface. The gel is a colloid obtained from organic polymerization. The gel contains about 70% of water and has an excellent heat absorption performance. However, the gel has stable operation without the fluidity like water, so that the gel is unlikely to be leaked even if the pocket is punctured by a sharp object or is broken, and it has a long service life. In the manufacturing method, the polymerization reaction is carried out in the pocket flatly and under the condition of external pressure, so that the prepared gel mat has flat and good appearance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
