<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system of an elevator system which enhances convenience without causing the deterioration of a security level and is advantageous in cost. <P>SOLUTION: When a portable terminal 10 approaches a gateway security gate 8 while power is turned on, signals S1-S3 are exchanged between the portable terminal 10 and a gateway key reader 9, and the gateway key reader 9 outputs a read signal S4. A key control device 11 performs authentication processing by authentication data contained in the read signal S4, and opens the gateway security gate 8. In this case, a high-rise elevator control device 15 makes an elevator car 5 respond to a gateway floor by an elevator call back request S7 from an elevator interface device 12.
