<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide device which achieves multichanneling with a compact device size, as well as low wavelength dependency and low polarization dependency, suppresses interchannel imbalance, and increases manufacturing tolerance. <P>SOLUTION: The optical waveguide device includes: one first waveguide 1 of a sigle mode, a plurality of second waveguides 2, and a tapered waveguide 3 which is widened from one end to the other end and whose one end is connected to the first waveguide 1, and the other end is connected to the second waveguide 2.
