<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of making improvement of visibility according to a distance from one's own vehicle to a preceding vehicle and reduction of glare compatible in a higher level. <P>SOLUTION: This headlight device includes a headlight unit arranged in the vehicle and a control means for controlling irradiation of light by the headlight unit according to the distance from the preceding vehicle traveling ahead of the one's own vehicle. In a first case in which the distance from the preceding vehicle is smaller than a prescribed threshold value (No in S16), the control means controls the position of a light distribution pattern to gradually perform irradiation upward as the distance from the preceding traveling vehicle is extended. In a second case in which the distance from the preceding vehicle is larger than the prescribed threshold value (Yes in S16), the control means forms a light distribution pattern to irradiate a region including a portion above the light distribution pattern in the first case and controls the illuminance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
