PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet holding structure of electromagnetic relay, in which a permanent magnet is held without using a separate component, and reduction in the number of components and assembly man-hours can be made, while there is no occurrence of chattering sound with the movement of the permanent magnet. SOLUTION: The magnet holding structure of an electromagnetic relay includes a permanent magnet 8 that cuts off an effect of arc generated between normally-open movable terminals 28A, 29A and normally-open fixed terminals 6-1, 6-2 of an electric contact switching mechanism 50 at the time of switching operation of the electric contact switching mechanism 50 by rocking a movable iron piece 20 by excitation of an electromagnetic solenoid mechanism 40, wherein the holding structure holds the permanent magnet 8 to a base 1. By housing the permanent magnet 8 in magnet housing parts 2a-1, 2c-1, and pressing in and split-caulking the press-fit portion 6c of the normally-open fixed terminals 6-1, 6-2 into the terminal press-in holes 5a, 5c, the permanent magnet 8 is pinched and fixed between the contact fixing part 6a and the bottom face of the magnet housing parts 2a-1, 2c-1.
