PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet discharge inspection device in order to efficiently prevent defective recording on a product from occurring due to irregular discharge of ink from discharge nozzles of an inkjet recording device. SOLUTION: The device performs preliminary discharge of ink from discharge nozzles of an inkjet recording device at the same time as discharge inspection, and includes a head unit having one or more inkjet heads, a discharge inspection recording medium, an image preparation mechanism controlling ink to be preliminarily discharged and controlling discharge onto a recording medium as an inspection image, an image information detection section to optically capture the inspection image recorded on the recording medium, an image information processing section to analyze and inspect differences and similarities of the captured image information and reference image information by comparison, and a control section to control the actions of the sections.
