<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing detailed photography information from being leaked from an image file. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A digital camera 100 includes: an image sensor 2 which picks up a subject image and outputs image data; condition acquisition means 8, 13, 14 for acquiring photographic conditions during photographing; a generation unit 6 that generates first photography information second photography information more detailed than the first photography information on the basis of the photographic conditions acquired by the condition acquisition means 8, 13, 14; a conversion unit 5 for converting the second photography information into encrypted third photography information; and means 4, 11 for generating an image file obtained by adding the first photography information and the third photography information to the image data, and for recording the image file on a recording medium 12.
