<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an active noise control method and an active noise control device, in which a computational complexity is reduced and a noise suppression effective range is broad. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Residue detecting microphones 7 and 8 collects residual sound after canceling at each sound receiving point as a residue signal, and a residue signal conversion section 9 creates a residue sum signal and a residue difference signal. A noise reference microphone 1 collects noise as a reference signal, and a first active noise control (ANC) section 2 creates a sum component control signal by processing a reference signal so that the residue sum signal may become minimum, and a second ANC section 3 creates a difference component control signal by processing the reference signal so that the residue difference signal may become minimum. A canceling sound wave creating section 4 cancels noise at each sound receiving point by outputting a pair of canceling sound wave signals created by adding and subtracting the sum component control signal and the difference component control signal, to a pair of sound receiving points.
