<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decalin derivative which gives a cured product having excellent optical properties and electrical properties, a resin composition comprising the same, a semiconductor sealant using the resin composition, an optical electronic member, a resist material, and a process for preparing a decalin derivative. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises a decalin derivative of formula (I) [wherein Y is a group selected from hydrogen, a halogen (preferably fluorine), a 1-10C hydrocarbon group, a hydroxyl group, a carbonyl group and C=O formed by two Ys joined to each other and may be the same or different in the case of being plural, provided that Y is hydrogen in the case of being at the position 9 or 10; R is hydrogen, a methyl group or a trifluoromethyl group; n is an integer of 0-4; p is an integer of 1-4; q is an integer of 12-15; and p+q=16] and has the above properties.
