A slot machine according to the present invention includes: a display device having a symbol display region for displaying a plural types of symbols; a casing; a side wall making up part of the casing, formed with an opening in a predetermined shape; a light emitting device provided inside the casing, at a position corresponding to the opening formed in the side wall; a memory for storing a plurality of light emission patterns of the light emitting device; and a controller for controlling the display device, the light emitting device, and the memory. The controller rearranges the plural types of symbols in the symbol display region during the basic game; award a payout in accordance with a predetermined combination, in the case where symbols displayed on the symbol display region are arranged in the predetermined combination; and reads the light emission patterns stored in the memory, and control the light emitting device to emit light in accordance with the read light emission pattern.
