The method involves hammering an upper surface of machine parts (18, 19) of a printing machine, and shifting the upper surface of the machine parts in vibrations in a control device (24). The upper surface is brought from a fixed condition into a movable condition for removing paper or powder dust (17). The machine parts and a ventilator area (11) are connected with actuators i.e. oscillating conveyors, vibrators (20, 21) and a hammering apparatus, where the machine parts are designed as a cover sheet. The machine parts are fixed during a determined usage of a printing machine. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for removing dust.
