SCROLL COMPRESSOR

A compressor provided, inside a housing, with a scroll compression mechanism constructed from a moving scroll performing an orbiting motion and a fixed scroll. Along the entire circumference of the rear surface of the moving scroll, there is formed a sliding surface making sliding contact with a front housing covering the moving scroll side of the compressor. The sliding surface defines a suction chamber connected to the compression mechanism and a drive section space located on the rear surface side of the moving scroll. A lubricating oil circulating route is provided between the drive section space and a lubricating oil containing space formed on the lower side of a discharge chamber. The lubricating oil circulating route leads lubricating oil from the lubricating oil containing space to the drive section space and has a restriction in the middle of the lubricating oil circulating route. The construction prevents liquid compression and a decrease in compression efficiency, improves the coefficient of performance, and improves lubricating characteristics at the time of start up of the scroll compressor.
