A cooking device which allows operation thereof to be cancelled even after the operation is started and which allows a user to perform easier input operation thereinto. The cooking device has a heating coil (3) for heating an object to be heated, an operating section (6) for allowing operation relating to heating control to be inputted therein, a notifying section for notifying information relating to input operation and control conditions, a sensing device for detecting whether or not a finger is present in a detecting region which is at least that part of the operating section (6) which is near the outer edge of the operating section (6), and a controlling section (10) for controlling, based on an input from the operating section (6) and on the result of detection by the sensing device, at least the heating coil (3) or the notifying section.
