PURPOSE: A semiconductor memory device, a method for operating the semiconductor memory device, and a memory system are provided to prevent the generation of a noise of a bit line due to the operation of a sense amplifier by controlling execution and stop of a separation operation according to a temperature of the semiconductor memory device. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor memory device separates a sense amplifier and a bit line for reading data. If the temperature of the semiconductor memory device is a first temperature, the separation operation is performed. If the temperature of the second memory device is a second temperature, the separation operation is not performed.
