<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device and an image storing method, which shorten a time needed to store data. <P>SOLUTION: When a photograph is taken in a photographic mode, RAW data obtained by photography are temporarily stored in a buffer memory. An image signal processing circuit performs image correction processing and pixel conversion processing on the RAW image data and then main image data thus obtained are temporarily stored in the buffer memory. The main image data are transmitted to a reduction processing unit and an image connection processing unit. The reduction processing unit performs reduction processing on the input main image data to generate thumbnail image data. The thumbnail image data are stored as backup image data in the backup memory and then sent to the image connection processing unit. The image connection processing unit combines the main image data and thumbnail image data to generate a connection image file, which is stored in the memory card. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
