<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an inkjet recording medium which can inhibit the generation of a coating trouble such as cracks as a result of eliminating brittleness after applying a coating liquid (especially, during drying), while keeping the stability of the coating liquid, and also, can inhibit a feathering phenomenon after recording. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of an inkjet recording medium comprises a coat forming process to form the coat in a multilayer fashion: that is, a first solution containing at least an inorganic minute particle and an acetoacetyl modified polyvinyl alcohol and a second solution containing at least an inorganic minute particle and a polyvinyl alcohol (excluding the acetoacetyl modified polyvinyl alcohol) are simultaneously applied in a multilayer fashion so as to allow the second solution to be located on the first solution, on a support. As another process, i.e. a solution applying process, a third solution containing a water-soluble multifunctional compound with not less than two amino groups in a molecule, is applied to the surface of the coat formed in the coat forming process, at the same time as the coat formed in the coat forming process, is formed or when the coat is in the process of drying and before the coat shows falling rate drying.
