PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate and output guidance information associated with an area in a predetermined range in map information, according to a user's familiarity with information on the area. SOLUTION: Information concerning the current position of the user is obtained by a position acquisition part 102, and the current position is set as a set spot by a spot setting part 103. A predetermined range in a direction heading toward a predicted traveling direction obtained by a direction prediction part 105 from the set spot, is set as a set range by a range setting part 106. Moreover, from information on the user obtained by a user information acquisition part 107, the number of movements performed in the area within the set range by the user in the past or a total travel distance are extracted by a number-of-times extraction part 108 or a distance extraction part 109. Based on the familiarity of the user with information on the area in the set range determined by a determination part 111, the guidance information associated with the area in the set range is generated and output by an output part 113.
