摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately detect the location of a front vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By a Kalman filter to which state equation showing a relation between the current state variables and the past state variables of a front vehicle based on both motion model and shape model of the front vehicle and output equation showing a relation between the observation value of the location of the front vehicle and the state variables are applied, a state variable prediction part 131 predicts the current state variables of the front vehicle based on the past state variables, and corrects the current state variables of the front vehicle based on the current observation value.
