<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle-cleaning method and a nozzle cleaning apparatus for surely cleaning a dispense nozzle, and reducing the cleaning time. <P>SOLUTION: The nozzle cleaning method for cleaning the dispense nozzle 50 for sucking and discharging a liquid includes: a first cleaning step of cleaning an inner wall face of the dispense nozzle 50 in the upper section of a reservoir tank 62, having an overflowing cleaning liquid L2 by discharging a precompression liquid L1, after the liquid is dispensed; and a second cleaning step of cleaning at least an outer wall face, by downwardly immersing the dispense nozzle 50 in the reservoir tank 62 having the overflowing cleaning liquid L2. The dispense nozzle 50 can be cleaned in the single reservoir tank, by using the nozzle cleaning method. The cleaning time is prevented from being extended.
