PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calcination furnace capable of discharging workpiece fragments, reducing waste of time for carrying out work for excluding the fallen workpiece fragments, and improving the operation rate of the furnace. SOLUTION: In the continuing type calcination furnace, a heater (not shown in the figure) is arranged above a workpiece conveyance route 1 for conveying the workpieces from an inlet port to an outlet port, and the workpieces are calcined from above. The calcination furnace is provided with a fragment storage part 2 composed of a space capable of storing the workpiece fragments which were broken and fell during heat treatment below the workpiece conveyance route 1, and is arranged with an openable/closable discharging door 3 at its bottom part. The bottom part is closed during calcination operation, and when the stored workpiece fragments are collected, the bottom part is opened to discharge the fragments downward.
