<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the aging degradation of the sound reduction performance of the vacuum cleaner, by controlling adhesion of the dust to the acoustic material and restraining the degradation of the acoustic material, and also removing dust from the sound reduction part. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a cleaner body 1 including an electric blower 2 for making negative pressure act on a dust collecting part, a suction opening body 3 for sucking up dust, a suction pipe 6 which connects the suction opening body 3 to the cleaner body 1, and a sound reduction part 20 of the sound absorption type arranged to the suction pipe 6 and made of a sound absorption material 24. The sound reduction part 20 includes a sound reduction part inner wall 22 on which a plurality of holes 21 are arranged at the region which becomes a loop in the interior acoustic mode of the suction pipe 6, and a sound reduction part outer wall 23 arranged to cover the plurality of holes 21. An air space layer 25 is arranged between the sound reduction part inner wall 22 and the sound reduction part outer wall and a sound absorption material 24 is installed there.
